ABOUT US

COVID-19 Pandemic has devastated India's small industries and the self-employed Indians – particularly women. Crores of Indians, working in the informal sectors, have lost their jobs. Crores of livelihoods have just been vanished completely. The street vendors, the train vendors, the Cycle Rickshaw pullers could not sell their goods and services due to prolonged lockdowns; daily manual labourers have no income because they don’t find jobs any more.

Feeling the devastation of the Pandemic, Sanjoy Nath, a computer professional working & living in New York City, USA, felt an urgent need to do something for those poor and established NILIMA FOUNDATION in 2021 with his philanthropic initiatives and limited resources. Sanjoy hopes his effort will inspire other like minded persons to lend supports to this noble cause and make NILIMA FOUNDATION a common platform for similar minded people to work together for the poverty alleviation to the extent possible.

NILIMA FOUNDATION directly does not donate any cash money to poor families, it offers refundable seed money on soft term in the form of small working capital to the local individuals or groups who are typically excluded from traditional banking. These seed money will empower individuals economically and socially by creating self-reliance and economic sustainability in impoverished communities where salaried jobs are rare. NILIMA FOUNDATION will create rural & urban jobs and help poor families, particularly women, to become self-sustaining.

If you want to donate any time and/or money to our Foundation or want to be a member, then fill up the membership form. Your little donation may help a poor parent to avoid seeing his/her kids sleeping with empty stomach. Any help of time/money will be accepted with great honor. NILIMA FOUNDATION is a non-profit charity organization that depends on your donation.
